Arriving in Phuket
Phuket International (HKT) sits at the north of the island, an hour or so from the southern beaches by taxi. Coverage around Phuket
The west-coast resort strip is well covered end to end: Patong, Karon, Kata, Bang Tao and Phuket Town all have solid service. Where it genuinely fails is offshore — the Phi Phi, James Bond Island and Similan day trips lose signal for much of the crossing, as do the more remote viewpoints in the island's interior.
Worth knowing
Phuket is where the day-trip boats matter more than the network map. A plan that works perfectly in Patong will show nothing an hour out to sea, so anything you need on a boat day — tickets, meeting points, the return time — should be screenshotted before you board rather than looked up on the water.
