Arriving in Cancún
Cancún International (CUN) handles most arrivals, with Tulum's newer airport (TQO) an option for the southern end of the Riviera Maya. The transfer from CUN to Tulum is a couple of hours, and shuttle and ride-hailing bookings are the first thing you'll want data for.
Coverage around Cancún
The Hotel Zone, downtown Cancún, Playa del Carmen and Tulum town are all well covered, as is most of the 307 highway between them. The gaps are the attractions: the cenotes inland, the Cobá and Chichén Itzá sites, stretches of the Sian Ka'an reserve and the ferry crossings to Isla Mujeres and Cozumel.
Worth knowing
The Yucatán's draw is precisely where the network isn't. A plan that's flawless along the hotel strip will show nothing at a jungle cenote or halfway round the Cobá ruins, and those are full-day trips rather than brief gaps. Anything you need out there — the tour meeting point, the return shuttle time, the offline map of the site — belongs on your phone before you leave the coast road.
